Appliance repair

The part you need depends on the machine you actually have.

"Washer won't drain" sounds simple.

Until the technician discovers the customer owns one particular revision that needs one particular part.

The visit that becomes two

Diagnose. Order. Leave. Return. The customer waits a week with a washer full of water. You pay for two truck rolls and sell one repair.

Identify, understand, prepare, repair

Before dispatch, Riff assembles the model, the serial number, the symptoms, previous repairs, the manual, warranty status, likely parts, and the questions most worth asking. When the customer says "it hums and then stops," Riff already knows which drain pump fits a WM3400CW and tells the technician to bring it.

If the model isn't on file yet, Riff asks for a photo of the label. Thirty seconds on the customer's phone, and the machine is identified for every future call.

The best second truck roll is the one that never happens.

What accumulates

Every machine you touch becomes a record: what it is, what failed, what fixed it. Over time, your company knows more about the appliances in your service area than the manufacturers' support lines do.
